Hello and welcome. My name is Steve and I am the owner of Scissortail Rod Company. Under the SRC banner, I build handcrafted bamboo fly rods for small stream and medium size river fishing.

Bamboo rods are at the heart of fly fishing tradition. One-by-one, each rod is meticulously built by hand with care and craftsmanship to deliver you a rod that will last generations.

Rods can be built in a number of different lengths and sizes, but small to medium sized rods are what I know and fish the most. My Standard Series rods are based upon what I love and know about fishing these smaller waters and consists of the following three rods:

6’ 3” 3 wt. - medium/fast action
7’ 4 wt. - medium/slow action
7’ 5 wt. - fast action

All Standard Series reel seats consist of a walnut insert, aluminum uplocking hardware and a Full Wells or Fenwick style grip. Of course, if you want something different we can discuss the options and customize a rod based on your preferences for an additional cost.
